There will be no calling hours or funeral services for Phyllis L. Turner, age 70 of the Turner Road in Macomb. Ms. Turner passed away on Sunday (January 24, 2010) at the E J Noble Hospital in Gouverneur. Burial will be at Oldsville Cemetery in Macomb. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
She is survived by many cousins.
Ms. Turner was born on October 15, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Charles S. & Virginia (Vigilante) Turner. She graduated from Morristown Central High School and the Ogdensburg Business School. She was employed by the New York Dairy Herd Improvement Bureau as a milk tester for 28 years, and the NYS Department of Corrections as a horticulture instructor. She owned and operated the Rock Garden Greenhouse located at her residence and enjoyed gardening and stained glass crafting.
She served as the Macomb Town Clerk and Supervisor, and a member of the St. Lawrence and NYS Republican Committees for several years. She was an avid fan of international figure skating and drum corps competitions, and will always be remembered as a practical joker!
